Role Overview

The Senior Manager – SCM will oversee procurement, vendor development, logistics, and inventory management to ensure smooth supply chain operations. The role includes team leadership, end-to-end coordination of materials movement, cost control, and contributing to strategic discussions with senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement and supply chain strategies.
• Monitor supplier performance on delivery, quality, and cost.
• Negotiate contracts and maintain strong vendor relationships.
• Oversee inbound/outbound logistics, shipping, and documentation.
• Ensure optimal inventory levels and materials availability.
• Identify risks and opportunities in the supply chain to improve efficiency.
• Maintain procurement and logistics documentation (POs, GRNs, Invoices, etc.).
• Drive sustainable sourcing and compliance with industry standards.
• Lead and mentor the SCM team to meet department KPIs.
• Participate in management-level meetings for strategic supply chain decisions.

Desired Skills

• Strong knowledge of end-to-end SCM functions: procurement, logistics, inventory.
• ERP system proficiency (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills.
• Ability to manage cost, quality, and delivery simultaneously.
• Experience in aerospace/defense manufacturing is a strong advantage.

Qualifications

B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering

10–15+ years of experience in supply chain, procurement, or logistics roles
