QA Engineer – Line Inspector

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive QA Engineer to join our Quality Assurance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality control, inspection processes, and quality system documentation. You will play a vital role in ensuring products meet customer specifications, regulatory compliance, and internal quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct in-process and final inspections of components and assemblies as per defined criteria and engineering drawings.
• Review quality documentation (control plans, inspection reports, FAIRs, etc.) for accuracy and completeness.
• Identify non-conformities and initiate appropriate corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
• Assist in root cause analysis and problem-solving for quality issues.
• Maintain and update records in line with AS9100D and other quality management systems (QMS).
• Coordinate with production, design, and supply chain teams to ensure quality across all stages.
• Support in internal audits, supplier audits, and customer audits.
• Develop and update inspection checklists, SOPs, and work instructions.
• Provide training and guidance to operators and inspectors on quality requirements.

Required Skills and Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, and standards (preferably AS9100D, ISO 9001).
• Hands-on experience with mechanical inspection tools (Vernier, Micrometer, Height Gauge, CMM, etc.).
• Good understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T, BOMs, and process flow.
• Knowledge of 7 QC tools, CAPA, and root cause analysis (Fishbone, 5-Whys, etc.).
• Familiarity with documentation for First Article Inspection (FAI), PPAP, or similar.
• Working knowledge of ERP/QMS software is an added advantage.
• Good analytical, communication, and reporting skills.
• Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.

Educational Qualification:

• Diploma / B.E / B.Tech in Mechanical / Industrial / Production Engineering or equivalent.
• Certified Internal Auditor (AS9100 / ISO 9001)
• Six Sigma Green Belt (Additional Advantage)
