Roles & Responsibilities:

• Preventive Maintenance
  1. Schedule and execute routine inspections, lubrication, and cleaning.
  2. Replace worn parts and monitor wear to prevent breakdowns.
  3. Extend machine life and reduce unscheduled downtime.
• Troubleshooting and Repairs

• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control system faults.
• Handle spindle failures, servo faults, encoder issues, and wiring problems.
• Restore machines quickly to minimize Mean Time to Repair (MTTR).

• Calibration and Accuracy
• Perform precision alignments, backlash adjustments, and spindle runout checks.Ensure machining accuracy meets production specifications.
• PLC and Software Support

• Troubleshoot and program PLCs/HMIs (Fanuc, Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi).
• Update CNC software and optimize logic for automated cells.
• Predictive Maintenance

• Use vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis, and laser alignment.
• Identify failure modes before they disrupt production.
• Documentation and Compliance

• Maintain detailed records of inspections, repairs, and calibrations.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and operational standards.

Plant Maintenance Engineer Responsibilities

1. Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on plant equipment and machinery to identify potential issues and address them proactively.
2. Perform repairs and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems to resolve breakdowns and malfunctions promptly.
3. Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules and procedures to maximize equipment reliability and minimize unplanned downtime.
4. Collaborate with the production team to plan maintenance activities, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
5. Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, including work orders, repair logs, and equipment history records.
6. Conduct root cause analysis on equipment failures and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
7. Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and new technologies in plant maintenance to enhance efficiency and optimize equipment performance.
8. Coordinate with external service providers and contractors for specialized repairs or maintenance tasks.
9. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards during maintenance activities, including lockout/tag out procedures and personal protective equipment (PPE) usage.
10. Train and mentor junior maintenance staff to enhance their skills and knowledge in plant maintenance.
